What about me? Ever since I could remember, pianos called to me. There was just something about pressing some keys and making beautiful sounds.

The Desire To Learn 
When I was 12 years old, our homeroom teacher was an amateur pianist. Whenever he used to play boogie woogie I would take a front row seat. By watching over and over again I memorized the left hand pattern.
One day during recess, I stayed in alone and practiced on the piano what I had memorized by watching. Well, the teacher caught me! He was so pleasantly surprised, that he offered to teach me the right hand. He slowed everything down, and showed me how to coordinate the timing of the notes in both hands. He later also showed me a few other songs.
Well, as the saying goes............................... The rest is history.
Not So Fast Little Fellow 
My parents were good people. There was just no way we could afford a piano, or piano lessons. So, though I did practice for hours at school; I only knew a few songs by rote. Kind of like a trained monkey. It wasn't until I was nearly 23 years old that I began real piano lessons. At that time, I thought I was just going to take a few lessons and become the next sensation. Was I in for a surprise! Persistence Pays Big Time
Playing On The China Orient Express
Another thing about me. I'm glad I didn't quit any of the many times I wanted to, mostly in the beginning stages. Sticking with it led to so much more knowledge, skill, and best of all, fun. Why else would you do anything?
I went on to become an Associate Royal Conservatory Teacher; an A.R.C.T. I also had friends that played in clubs, and they put me onto lead sheets and improvising. A great combination.

The best kind of work always leads to growth, beauty, and fun. I have played in Alaska, China, and the Caribbean; to name a few places.
Over the past 25 years I have taught hundreds of students and built many fine relationships. It really is a privilege.
The Final Frontier?
One last thing about me that has really extended and augmented my piano career, enabling me to share my piano experience with many others, is this very website. Built on my own, with the amazing tools and organizing power of Site Build It!
Having an online presence is pretty well a must today. The information age we're now in is replacing the industrial age. Many people need a website and don't even know it.
