Minor Scales The Sound And What To Do With It
Minor scales have an important role on the piano and in music generally. They provide color and variation. Such a complement to, or change from, Major Scales. It's quite amazing what seven notes can create.

As mentioned on the Piano Scales page a scale is an organized series of notes in stepwise motion. Some will gravitate, naturally, to one of the notes. Listen to the basic C minor harmonic scale played slowly:
Now here's the C minor harmonic scale played in what is known as formula pattern. That is, two hands, alternating between parallel motion and contrary motion. The sound says it best:
