Piano Chord Chart The Best Way To Use One
The key to using any piano chord chart is making sure to get the feel for the chords.
Once you use even the most elementary chart you will quickly see, and feel, hand position patterns that repeat on different keys. Some of them will be only white keys, and they will form groups, like a family of patterns. Of course, many will involve the black keys also, in different ways. This will become more evident when you understand key signatures and the different keys. One thing must be said about the many chord charts found on the Internet. As is often the case, there is much free product out there that leads to product for purchase. If it is reasonably thorough and helps you a lot, then that is fine. However, a lot of things that start off free end up costing you a lot in supplemental product to be purchased; not to mention time wasted. So, be cautious and choose wisely. From my own experience, a chart by itself can only do so much for you. It normally takes an experienced person who already knows something about music to get the most of the chart by his/herself. Everybody is different, so feel free to give it a shot, if you are so inclined. Doing my own research on the Internet, I have yet to find a great chart I could recommend. One last point. With the multimedia capability of the Internet, be careful not to waste your time with fancy gadgets that help you a tiny bit yet do nothing for your piano chord playing ability. Remember, in the end, you play the chords, not the gadgets.
